Toronto, Ontario, Canada (AHN) – New industry player Wind Mobile filed a complaint on Thursday with Canada’s Competition Bureau over rival Rogers Communications advertisement.

Wind Chairman Anthony Lacavera charged at a speech to the Toronto Board of Trade that Rogers’ Chatr ad is false in claiming the latter’s new service offers lesser dropped calls and a more reliable network compared to rivals, which includes Wind, Mobilicity and Public Mobile.

Mobilicity had filed in September another complaint before the bureau that Rogers undercut Mobilicity’s pricing scheme.

Lacavera disputed Rogers’ ad claim because Canada’s largest telecom firm does not have access to Wind’s network data and vice-versa. He blamed the dropped calls experienced by Wind clients to a regulatory loophole resulting from the shift of a cellphone owner from large service providers like Rogers, Telus or Virgin Mobile to newer providers.

He said it is a different story in other countries where mobile phone owners could easily shift from one service provider to another seamlessly, without experiencing dropped calls.
