Teenagers can’t hide their excitement when the time comes and they are old enough to drive their own cars and have their own driver’s license. What should a parent expect when the time comes and the teen gets behind the wheel? This is the question that bothers most parents. There’s no secret that teen drivers are the hardest to control and they tend to take a lot of risk due to their overconfidence and the desire to show off in front of their colleagues or friends. And there are a lot of accidents with young drivers being involved. With all that in mind a typical parent becomes very agitated and tries to find the best insurance solution for their young car owner. However, due to the trends linked to young drivers, teenager auto coverage is rarely a cheap service as compared to standard insurance policies. Most insurance companies charge higher rates for teen drivers, and if your young car owner chose a sports vehicle as his or her first car, expect to pay a lot for the insurance.

Teen drivers sure get quite unhappy because of such situation, however there are certain reasons for this that just can’t be overlooked by insurance companies. The statistics are objective, showing that the number of teen drivers getting involved in accidents each year is greater than with older drivers. That it often caused by the lack of practical driving experience and the general risk-taking attitude most teen drivers share. No surprise that insurance companies are setting higher rates for young drivers, as they need to assess their risks correspondingly. It may seem that there’s no way to get cheap car insurance for a young driver but it is not so. There are simple tips on how to minimize teen insurance rates and here are some of them. First of all, make the teen forget about a stylish sports car that roars with speed and power with the slightest push over the gas pedal. Don’t buy a small car too. The best choice for young inexperienced driver will be a larger car, preferably a sedan that will be both big enough to survive a serious crash and safe enough to keep your teen protected. Whether used or new, the car should carry all the necessary safety feature and be just as fast as needed, not over the top or too slow.

A used car is better for a young driver, first of all because it will be cheaper to insure and because sooner or later your teen will have an accident. And it’s cheaper repairing an old car than wasting your nerves and money on trying to fix an expensive new ride. This may be not the cheapest car insurance option, but it sure will save you a lot of cash before your teen gets older. And don’t forget about discounts. First of all, you should teach your young driver how to maintain a good driving record. The cleaner it is, the lower will be his or her premiums, so you should convince your teen to drive safely. Good students can opt for discounts too. Most insurance companies offer discounts to students with an average of B and above, so that should be a good kick for better marks too.

People think that the best places to buy cheap used cars are at used auto dealership. Most of these people believe that these places are possibly the best they can find when they want cheap used cars. Government car auctions are without doubt the best places you could go to when you want cheap automobiles. The prices are not only affordable; they are also crazy and quite unbelievable. Interestingly, you can also find minivans and trucks at incredibly low prices. Many of these vehicles were seized from loan defaulters and traffic offenders who could not come up with fines imposed by courts. The failures of the erstwhile owners of these vehicles to meet up with their financial commitments have become your gain. So, all you have to do is to take full advantage of the situation presented to you to own a cheap automobile.

One major challenge the government always have each time vehicles are seized from their owners is maintenance. These vehicles are kept places where they cost the government a lot of money to maintain. That is why auctions are organized from time to time to allow for bidders to come for them. They are disposed at prices that are pretty lower than their original values. As a matter of fact, some of the vehicles at government car auctions can qualify as almost new. Some of them only have minor dents, and some with just minor scratches here and there. A good number of them are just a few months old, and rarely are some of them more than two to three years in use. For the prices they are sold to the public, I think it is the cheapest you can ever get anywhere.

The newspapers usually offer a good start for those who want information on where they can find government car auctions. Local newspapers may not really provide enough information for you, except if you have all the necessary tools at your disposal. It is always a terrible challenge if you have to do all the findings all by yourself. However, for under $50.00, you could get an online site to help you do all the dirty work for you. Think about this; you do not ever have to worry about registering with auction sites, paying for auction licenses, and many more things you have to do on your own. Buying cheap used cars can be a lot of fun if you let these online experts do all the dirty hard work on your behalf. However, it can also be pretty stressful if you do not know how to go about it.

There is a reason why people are in need of cheap used cars all year round and I will explain a few of them right now. First of all, a lot of people that own cheap used cars are in need of a new one a lot more often then people who drive new vehicles. Old cars break down and stop working all the time so there is a hot market for affordable preowned vehicles. That makes sense, right?

Another reason is that the economy is in such bad shape that more and more people are in need of cheap used cars as opposed to looking for a new car or one to lease. Of course there are countless other reasons why someone may be in need of a cheap used car, but we don’t need to cover all of that here… Let’s move on to where you can find them, shall we?

If you could guess where the best place to find cheap used cars would be, I bet you wouldn’t guess what I am about to tell you. The best place is on the internet! This is because you have access to hundreds of thousands more vehicles than you would if you were to limit your search to local car dealerships, etc. When there is a larger amount of inventory to choose from, the chances of finding one that is affordable and also good quality go up significantly. Makes sense, right?

Not only is the internet the best place, but the government seized auto auction websites are truly the number one resource to find cheap used cars. These vehicles are almost brand new most of the time and they have been confiscated from criminals or other people who couldn’t afford to make their payments! They are then sold off at auction for up to ninety five percent off of their original retail value and even as low as a hundred bucks! Now where else could you buy a 2008 car, truck or SUV for 95% off retail value or a hundred dollars?

For those of you who are searching for cheap used cars, these are some tips that will assist you in finding them easily. There are vehicles being sold for 95% off their retail value! How would you like to get a new car for just a hundred bucks?

For those of you who are searching for cheap used cars, these are some tips that will assist you in finding them easily. A multitude of different car dealers and individuals sell used cars but a lot of them are bought for pennies on the dollar, washed and waxed and then sold for double or triple the price to an innocent buyer like yourself. That doesn’t sound fair, does it?

It’s not fair, and that is why I am providing you with these tips. The first tip I would like to go over is that the best place to get cheap used cars is at the government seized auto auctions online. Why give all that profit to a private dealer or hustler when you can get it directly from the auction yourself? There are websites out there that will grant you access to these auctions where you can browse through hundreds or thousands of cheap used cars, trucks, SUV’s and more for under forty dollars. There are vehicles being sold for 95% off their retail value! How would you like to get a new car for just a hundred bucks?

My second tip for you is to make sure that the site you find doesn’t charge more than forty or fifty dollars to give you access to the auction. Why? Because there are sites online that will give you access for forty dollars and they are perfectly legitimate if not the best websites you can find. You will not find more cheap used cars anywhere other than the government auctions.

As long as you follow the above advice, you will be burning rubber in your new car in no time! Simply find a website that offers access to the public government auctions and browse through thousands of cheap used cars until you find the one of your dreams!

Well, probably lots of different used cars and trucks.

If you are looking for a new or used car there are a number of options available to you, as a purchaser, where you can go look for one. You can always peruse the used car sales ads in the local newspaper or at various on line websites. You can go visit and perhaps test drive a new car at a new car sales lot. Or you can attend a used car or equipment auction. The general public doesn’t usually know this but used construction equipment auctions generally have a few used cars included in the auction. However the choices are generally pretty limited. Usually the owner’s wife’s car or the sales staff vehicle. Another option is that you can visit one or more used car lots.

New car lots sell their own brand, or perhaps several brands of new cars. They also may sell the trade-ins they take when they have successfully sold a new car. Sometimes they will consign these trade-ins to a wholesale car auction house that then puts on a wholesale vehicle auction on a regular basis.

Used car lots don’t take in only one brand of vehicle. They may specialize in a particular type of vehicle but they do have an assortment of all types of used or barely used cars for sale on one lot. Some used car lots are huge and have hundreds of vehicles for sale. If you are looking for a used vehicle, it’s fun to visit the various car lots and look and perhaps test drive many different cars.

When you decide to go shopping for a newer car than what you presently own, you need to consider how you are going to pay for it. Also are you going to trade in your old car? Do you have good enough credit to be approved for a car loan? Are you going to make some sort of down payment? All this needs to be decided before actually going in to purchase the car.

At some used car dealers, once the sales person spots you looking, you will be asked to fill out an application for credit right then. In some cases, this will help the sales person or finance office just how much vehicle you can afford. Some dealers will wait until you have looked at several cars before asking you to fill out the credit application.

Ideally, if you have good credit you will have obtained a pre-approved car loan from a third party lender such as a credit union or a bank. Then you can go used car shopping knowing you can negotiate with the sales person and get a better deal on the car.

There is also a network of used car dealers that participate in a form of ‘in house’ financing such as buy here pay here or the acronym BHPH. There are a lot of used cars for sale and lots of options to finance them.

It’s not unusual these days for cars to make it past 200,000 miles or more when taken care of properly. A lot of people like to trade in their cheap used cars after a year or two but if you continue to drive your car for a long time after it’s paid off you can save about $30,000 or more. Just think about all the things you could do with an extra $30,000!

Thanks in part to numerous advances in motor oil and other engine technology features you may not need to change the oil in your car every 3,000 miles anymore. In fact, according to Consumer Reports, most newer vehicles driven today under normal conditions can go 7,500 miles or more between oil changes. Of course, “normal conditions” is rather vague and it’s hard to know whether most drivers will fall under this category.

To find out the recommended schedule for your vehicle be sure to check the owner’s manual. It should contain a maintenance schedule that explains how often you should change the oil as well as other fluids that keep your car running smoothly. It should also tell you when to change other parts such as hoses, tires, filters, belts, and spark plugs. Sticking to this schedule will pay off in the long run when you can continue to drive your car years after the loan has been paid off.

If you do a lot of city driving that includes many stops and starts your maintenance schedule will differ a lot even from someone owning the same car as you but driving mainly on the expressway. City driving adds a lot of extra wear and tear on your vehicle. Your car will also require more maintenance if you take a lot of extended trips, live in an extremely hot or cold climate, tow trailers, or do a lot of driving on bumpy, dirt roads. In this case, you may be required to change the oil in your car every 3,000 miles as opposed to every 7,500 miles.

If you’re shopping for a cheap used car it might be hard to know the maintenance history of the vehicle you’re interested in purchasing. This is important information to have because unless you know whether or not the car was taken care of properly you don’t know how reliable it will be. Be sure to ask to see any paperwork the owner has including receipts for maintenance and repair work. If they don’t have anything available you basically have to take their word that the vehicle was cared for properly. At the very least, you’ll want to have a certified mechanic inspect the car before you purchase it.

If you take good care of your car it can last for years and save you thousands of dollars. One of the best investments you can make is purchasing a reliable and cheap used car.

Visiting any car dealerships or car lots, whether used or new can be an intimidating experience. Inherent in a new car lot is the implied factor that the car will be new and should give you no problems until the warranty has expired. Whereas used car lots seem to imply that the cars for sale have been discarded by their owners so they can purchase another newer or better car.

This isn’t entirely true though because the used car lots also extend warranties for the vehicles they sell. Most used car lots will examine a used vehicle before they accept it for sale. They usually have an extensive check list which they use to verify that the car is drivable and can be sold as a used car.

Today there are laws in place that protect the used car buyer. The days of bait and switch are, fortunately mostly a thing of the past. Used car dealers generally run an immaculate operation and the used cars they sell can be a pretty decent deal. After all the rumor is that as soon as you drive those new back tires out the driveway of a new car lot, into the street, your new car has decreased in value by at least 30% or more. So it does make sense to consider buying a used car as your next new car.

Still, visiting a large used car dealer’s lot can be intimidating. You pull onto the lot and park in a space. There you are seemingly immediately approached by a horde of aggressive sales people. If you tell them you would just like to look, they fade away for a short while. As soon as you seem to get interested in a car, one or more of them swoops down on you offering to show you the vehicle. At some point they will ask what do you want to spend on a new car. When you answer, they will direct you to something that suits your budget. During the discussion they will also ask you how you will pay for the vehicle or if you intend to use the car you arrived in as a trade in toward the purchase price.

Because you want them to think you are a valid potential customer and not someone just looking, you need to have some documents with you so you can fill out the application for credit and get approved before you purchase that car. You should bring your driver’s license, proof of insurance for a current car you own, and a paycheck stub or proof of some form of regular pay that you have from the place where you are employed.

Of course, you might have pre-approved credit from your bank or credit union. If you do, it gives you some bargaining power to negotiate down the price of that new car. Whether they provide the financing or you already have it, be prepared to spend time negotiating that used car price lower.

You can’t actually take advantage of your local used car dealers but you can get a better deal from them than from an out of town dealer that you may never visit again. Local used car dealers are in business to sell cars and to make a living selling them. They have a reputation to maintain if they want to continue to sell cars to their neighbors like you. Local used car dealers are owned by men and woman too, that attend city council meetings. They participate in local charity functions. They donate to the boy scouts. They are your neighbor.

An out of town used car dealer couldn’t care less where you live or work, other than the fact that you are employed so you can make the car payment. If you buy a used car from them they probably won’t be too concerned if it breaks down on the way home. You are less likely to return to an out of town used car dealer to get repairs done or buy new tires when needed.

This is why you can take advantage of a local used car dealer. Buying local means you are helping keep your local businesses in business so you don’t have to go out of town to make your purchases. The local used car dealer knows this. Because he wants to maintain a good business presence he should be willing to give you a better deal on the car you buy from him. You certainly can remind him of this.

Probably you both have kids that attend the same school or play on the same sports team. So you are already buddies with him or his wife. You may attend the same church. Again an advantage you have when shopping for a used car from him. He certainly doesn’t want to be embarrassed if you tell someone that the car he sold you was a lemon. Nope. He wants you to tell your friends what a good deal he gave you on that used car.

Your local dealer wants you to return to his car lot to have your maintenance done on your new vehicle. He wants you to buy your new tires when you need them from him. He wants to continue to make money from you. And you don’t have to go out of your way to drive past his lot every day. And when you drive by, he wants you to be happy with your purchase.

Do make sure you compare prices before you buy a new used car. If you are forearmed with this knowledge you are in a better bargaining position. Also make sure you know how much that out of town dealer will sell you a used car for. And don’t be afraid to let your local dealer know it. Even thought he is a neighbor you will probably still need to negotiate that final price down. Or at the very least, get some upgrades on the vehicle you buy!
